A Natural Learning Environment
Riverwoods is an environmental education center planned adjacent to the Cumberland River Watershed, part of the larger Southwestern Appalachian Ecoregion. KSD developed, refined and launched a strategic communication plan for the development, which includes messaging, identity, introductory event banners, brochures and a website.
The Russell County Public Library is a small library with a big heart for the community it serves. Its previous website, like many sites more than a few years old, was not mobile friendly, difficult to update, and did not visually communicate the staff's enthusiasm. The goal was to create a site that would show patrons not only what the library has to offer, but the positive attitude staff members bring to the library experience.
Designing a logo to represent the Russell County (Kentucky) Public Library began with a fundamental question: What is a library? The answer, which came into focus through discussions with the library staff, is quite different from what it has been in years past. With digital materials, genealogy tools, career services, educational programs and much more, today's (and tomorrow's) library is more than books. It's CONTENT.
