Through a unique partnership between a local school system and an industrial development organization, a cutting-edge AgriTech learning center is coming to rural Kentucky.

Our long-time client, the Russell County Industrial Development Authority (RCIDA), has consistently gone beyond traditional manufacturing recruitment by investing in long-term workforce and community development initiatives. One such achievement was the RCIDA’s collaboration with Russell County Schools to help establish the Lake Cumberland Regional College and Workforce Center—an educational facility focused on advanced manufacturing, healthcare, technology, construction trades, and transportation, which opened in 2023.
Even before that center was completed, the RCIDA began exploring the potential for a similar initiative focused on the rapidly growing field of AgriTech. Partnering once again with the school system, they began to develop a vision for a dedicated AgriTech education and training facility, modeled after the workforce center.
To help bring the vision to life, the RCIDA sought and secured grant funding and donated 11 acres of land from their industrial park, in addition to making a financial contribution toward the project.

KSD was tasked with developing the name and brand identity for the new center, ultimately creating SEED ACADEMY. In addition, KSD produced a series of video interviews featuring key stakeholders to articulate the vision and document the process of bringing the project to life.
Construction of the SEED ACADEMY began in early 2025 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Groundbreaking ceremonies will take place on May 9, 2025. For the occasion, KSD produced branded clay pots and spades, event banners, site signage, and printed invitations.
