Fun In AND Out of the Water!
Lake Cumberland and a wide variety of outdoor recreational and leisure activities are important draws to this vacation community in southeastern Kentucky. However, there are many other attractions, activities and events that further differentiate Somerset and Pulaski County as a unique destination for vacationers — including Civil War history, classic car shows, music festivals, art and craft shows, a water park, five golf courses, two vineyards and more.
Medical Tune Up
The centerpiece of this sign system KSD designed for Oxford Medical Associates, a large custom medical cross, is actually a working wind chime. Three other exterior elements mark the property entrance and display doctors' names at two practice entrances. Inside, each suite's sign system was unique and designed to complement that particular interior design scheme.
A Tribute to Supporters of Higher Education
Somerset Community College, part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, recognizes outstanding alumni, faculty, staff and friends who have dedicated themselves to the success and academic excellence of SCC.
KSD designed the permanent display to fit an existing space in Meece Hall on the SCC campus. Materials were chosen to complement the space as well as allow for easy updates as names are added following the biennial induction ceremony.
Lighting a Fire for Donors
These four 14-foot "torches" display the names of major donors to Somerset Community College, arranged according to levels of giving. The long glass arc behind the torches is etched with W.B. Yeats's "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire," while the etching on the gold band describes the piece and includes praise for past and future donors.
Energizing a Brand and Website
With a new idea for putting cleaner energy into America's electrical grid, Wellhead Energy Systems turned to KSD to help tell their story. KSD designed a company website, information graphics for the product, and branding for their innovative energy conversion stations: GridFox.™
